EVA Air And Its Catapult To Fame And Dominance

By Esteban Consuela Xavier

The name, EVA, derived from Evergreen Airways which was the original name of EVA. There are many ways to come up with a name for a business, and EVA comes from the letters in Evergreen Airways. The change of name was necessary, because the same first name was being used by a different flight company. International and Asian airports are the destinations of EVA flights, which originate out of the island nation of Taiwan. EVA's past history is much the same as any other airline, because they all experience similar things. Like many other airlines, the early 2000s were difficult financially, but they are again making money.

EVA had a tiring year in 2010, according to many aspects. Aside from lengthening their routes and mixing up their management, they were able to place bids for more collaborations. The company made more inroads with Canadian destinations with a new service route to Toronto. Then later in the year they added a connecting flight from Taipei to Tokyo Japan. The year overall was very strong as the company reported improvements in annual profits. There will be new development competences likely in the in-between. The rationale for this is that EVA has put in their application with the Star Alliance of associated airlines. As soon as that is approved, then there will be even better things taking place with EVA.

EVA sought to develop the internal air passenger market within Taiwan, and they made a bold move in the middle of the 1990s. To attempt to make it happen, the airline bought out three other airlines. Shares were purchased in Great China Airlines, Taiwan Airways and Makung International Airlines. Later in the decade, in mid 1998, those three airlines were merged within UNI Air. This entity became a part of EVA, included the company's domestic operations and eventually came under control of EVA. Everything that has to do with the operations of air transportation is done by UNI Air.

The early 1990s saw EVA making orders for long haul airliners with Boeing and McDonnell Douglas. However, they also started taking receivership of Boeing 747-400 for flights to Los Angeles, California. Travelers were treated to premium economy class cabins at that time which was unusual in the industry. Travelers were treated to increased choices in regard to entertainment while flying. Flying to your destination was made very easy because of what you would receive. International expansion included countries such as Austria, Thailand, and the eastern United States.

From their humble beginnings, EVA has grown into a strong and reliable company that is financially viable from every perspective. Going from absolutely nothing to a market of international size is a very difficult task. With their home base in Taiwan, they do their best to maintain their operations and cover their people at home. A conglomeration of multiple Asian airlines, under the aegis of EVA, they have grown exponentially and are very stable. All the while, they maintained domestic flights in Taiwan while expanding internationally.

Nothing makes a trip more fantastic than a great hotel. And also a good airliner, this can help make your holiday a dream come true. Many individuals come to London because of this very reason. Before you decide on your next vacation, consider London, and all the great resorts available there.
